The tenth grade was a tornado of events, from the retreat to spirit week. This grade is a mix of people from different cultures and different groups of friend, and it was such an interesting experience to see how everyone came together this year. From students ranking in the top one percent in the world in the AMC, like Katharine and Chris, to Charles winning the art of movement award and the tenth grade principal’s award.
The tenth grade took a huge part in the Dancers against Cancer dance show and in several ISST competitions. The amount of talent and intellectual abilities that our grade embodies is hard to believe. From lots of students who entered NHS to the students who broke records in SCIS and ISST’s this year like Kevin Szabad and Oscar Van Eagren to Julian Svoboda.
The grade not only has extremely talented athletic students, like Obbe Annega who won the physical education book award this year but also academic awards like Abeer Al Zayer for winning the Model United Nations Distinguished Delegate award. Other academic competition which our school placed was NESDA, the speech and debate completion where Ben and his partner made it to the semi finals in debate and the finals in Improptu speaking.
